What is happening when your vision is blocked with a cut glass pattern of lights in front of your left eye?

This has happened two days in a row at the same time every day. It hangs around for about an hour and gradually fades away. I am not in pain but I can't see very well when it is going on. My bloodpressure is fine during this time as I take it when it happens. It happened one other time about 20 years ago but just stopped after a couple of days so I forgot about it then. What is this???

It sounds like something called "ocular migraines"  sometimes the cause pain after it clears up, sometimes not. Does is seem kinda wavy?  Like it is moving?  If so that is probably what it is.  Check with your eye doctor, but I don't think there is anything they can do about it.  It only really bothers me when I am driving!  I have to pull over and wait it out!

There might be something floating inside your eye that is causing this.  Whenever there is a vision problem bad enough to "block" your vision, it's worth a call to your Dr.
