What is happening with Degrassi?

Okay so this last season ended and what is next? Are they starting over with new characters? And why are ellie and paige and marco leaving? I am so confused here. The N is not helping with explaining any of this.

I am really not sure about Marco, Ellie, Spinner, and Jimmy..They showed previews for episodes that start in september or november and they have a bunch of new characters..I love Degrassi! I hope all our old favs dont leave!!

Okay so this is what I think they're gonna do with the characters.

Emma- Staying, in college with Manny and Liberty

Manny- Staying, in college with Emma and Liberty

Liberty- Staying, in college with Emma and Manny

Jimmy- He's either going to college in New York and will be like Hazel and completely disappear or (most likely) stick around as he still needs to get that surgery and him and Trina are still together.

Spinner- He has to be in it because him and Jane are still going out and Jane's in 12th grade

Toby- Most likely not coming back because he really doesn't have a point anymore

Paige- Confirmed that she's leaving the main cast. She will guest star in a few episodes.

Ellie- She's the head of the core now so she's most likely still gonna be in the show,

Marco- If Ellie's gonna be in the show then Marco has to be too.

Sean- He's probs gonna come back from war or like die during or something.

Mr. Simpson- Since Miss. Hatzilakos is leaving then maybe he'll be principal?

Miss. Hatzilakos- Leaving for Vag-err Regina.

Jay- No reason to keep him around unless him and Manny get back together.

Darcy- Leaving because Shenae Grimes (who plays Darcy) is gonna be on 90210

Claire- Darcy's little sister, entering high school next season.

Holly J- Shes gonna be a new Paige I think.

Anya- Shes gonna be a new Hazel I think.

Mia- Shes supposed to have a drastic makeover this season

Lucas- I think we'll be seeing less of him because Mia is cutting off ties with him

Damien- Most likely gone. (yes!)

Jane- Gonna be the new Ellie and hijinx will ensue.

Derek- I think he'll float around a little and fight with Danny.

Danny- I think he'll become one of the more prominent cast members.

Peter- He's staying at Degrassi.

Johnny- I think he'll float around.

Sav- He'll be a prominent cast member also,.

There's also gonna be a couple other new characters names Riley who's a football jock and Liam (idk the spelling) a "ballerina who's trying to distance herself from her past." Kelly, whos' Emma's, Manny's, and Liberty's new roomate. Also, Chantae (the black cheerleader that's a ***** to Holly J.) might get a bigger role.

i dont think spinner and jimmy will leave but, they are pushing ellie,paige and marco to recurring status.

I am guessing Marco, Allie, and Page are leaving because they're now in college and are going to start being adults. There is only so much drama that can happen to the same characters. They are probably gonna focus on Emma and Manny going to college for a bit. And at the same time introduce new characters to the show. I am guessing by the previews and from what I have heard that is what is going to happen.
