  1. If you keep your guinea pig in a large ehough cage, you should not have a problem with the smell. Check this out:

Guinea pigs should never be kept outside. They are very susceptible to weather conditions. To learn more about guinea pigs, go to:

  2. well ginea pigs are big and cost a lot and hamster don't smell that bad but ginea pigs p u!

  3. guinea pigs are harder to take care off and smell more. especially if you feed them broccolli...

but i think they make better pets than hamsters

  4. I have 2 guinea pigs, they live in hutches outside, they are very satisfied creatures, happy to do what they want, but they're quite a handful at times, you need to dedicate a decent amount of your time to them, as they are social little creatures. Hamsters, however, sleep all day and are up all night, if you don't clean them out every few days, they will get a strong, unpleasant whiff about them! But, they are also, like guinea pigs, social and love company, they are probably the easiest to care for if you don't have that much time to spare =]

  5. hamsters easier as they do less poos but with some of the new cages you get there is so many tubes sections it is hard

if you just get a tray cage yiou can tip it in the bin but then it's not very fun for the hampster you can buy loads of 'hamster' toys but some of these can be quite expensive what is good thought is a hamster ball which your hamster can run around in for ages expoloring new places

guineapigs are biggner need more cleaning out but if you have a wooden hutxch sometimes the p**p gets stuck on the wood and is hard to move but also if it's a plastic based hutch alo easy just to tip in your bin

with both you should daily remove the p**p which reduces smells and i a;ways found the hamster smells more what else is you need to be careful using scented disinfectent as it removes the hamster smell which the hamster marks its territory and this can upset the hamster alot making it go a bit crazy so it;'s best here just to use a damp cloth

    hope this helps

  6. guinea pigs are definitly harder but I think more rewarding...If you do decide to get a guinea please make sure read up on them and make sure you can supply the apporpriate cage for them.... Also when considering getting a guinea pig take into account that they get lonley and need a companion so it is best to buy 2. And please don't buy them from a Pet's store...they are usually sick...try to find a breeder in your area..they know the caveys on a personal level and will be able to help you decide which are best for you.

This is a really helpful site and has everything you need to know about cages and how to care for guinea pigs.

  7. I have never had a guinea pig but I hear they stink more & are harder to care for. But I have had a hamster & they r easy to care for & don't stink bad.

  8. Guinea pigs definately stink more. My rats, hamster, and gerbil don't stink as much as the one i had put together. However I didn't want to get rid of her so I went and bought a mini air purifier and put it by her cage. I think you should get a hamster. I know people say they bite too much but that is because they underestimate how much works needs to be put into trust training one and give up before a months time. But a hamster is much more fun than a guinea pig and I say that from my experience. My pig was happy, healthy, and popcorned but I always had to remind myself to interact with her because i wanted to be fair but with my hamster i wanted to play with her as soon as she woke up.
