  1. Haste bypasses the "summoning sickness rule" The summoning sickness rules states that creatures cannot "tap" the turn they come into play. Therefore, a creature with haste can come into play, attack at the same turn, or use a "tap ability" at that very same turn.

  2. Haste is a keyworded ability that appears on creatures. As a rule, creatures can not attack or use abilities with "tap" in the cost the turn they come into play. Haste circumvents this rule, allowing the creature to attack or tap the same turn they enter the game. Haste has no effect on other permanent types, as they are not subject to the 'no tap/attack' rule.

  3. 502.5. Haste

502.5a Haste is a static ability.

502.5b A creature with haste can attack or use activated abilities whose cost includes the tap symbol or the untap symbol even if it hasn’t been controlled by its controller continuously since the start of his or her most recent turn. (See rule 212.3f.)

502.5c Multiple instances of haste on the same creature are redundant.

    From the comp rules:

  4. If a creature has haste, it can attack and use abilities that include TAP or UNTAP in its cost on the same turn that it was played, unless otherwise stated.

For example, a Raging Goblin can attack on the turn it comes into play. However, a Bonded Fetch can't attack, because it has Defender. However, it can tap on the turn that it came into play, allowing you to draw a card, then discard a card.

    Hope that helped!
