  1. Freshly juiced wheatgrass would be superior to bottled juice blend products such as MonaVie. The enzymes would be more active and the antioxidants would be fresher.

  2. While they are both 'good' for you, Mona Vie is 'healthier'.  The reason being is that it contains juice from fruits across the color spectrum which provides you with a wide array of antioxidants and phytonutrients.  In addition, the main ingredient, the acai berry, also contains essential fatty acids and amino acids and fiber.  Additionally, Mona Vie adds plant derived glucosamine into the product for joint health.

And for the people who recommended simply eating an apple...that is great advice except for the fact that the apple probably doesn't contain as many vitamins and minerals as it did 5 years ago and it certainly has less than when we were kids.  Don't forget that fruit is picked before it is ripe (therefore before it has reached peak nutritional value) and then it only loses some of its nutrients on the way to market.  Not to mention the fact that most US farmland has been overfarmed and the soils leached of vital minerals.  So just how many apples a day does it take to keep the doctor away in 2008?  2009?  Get the idea?

  3. Neither is particularly "healthy"

Wheatgrass has NO nutritional value for humans, that's why we leave it for cows.  Even they just use it as fuel for the fermentation tank that is their rumen.  It is so low in energy and nutrients, they have to spend most of their waking hours grazing.   There are far more nutrients in an apple.  Food Alties make all sorts of wild claims that are completly unsupported by evidence or common sense

EDIT.  For anyone who would take the trouble to research this, instead of just accepting the utter nonsense  they tell you at the health food store, grass has very low nutritional quality.   Cows have to eat bushels of it daily to ferment in their rumens.  Some nutrients are derived from the fermentation directly, but most is actually from the bacteria and yeast that feed off the fermentation products.  It has no magical properties.  I've even heard health food store advocates claim that the chlorophyl in wheat grass becomes hemoglobin (!!)  Ludicrous.  Cows evolved to eat grass, and need a 4 part stomach to do it (Rumen, Reticulum, Omasum, Abomasum)  We omnivores evolved to eat a wider variety of foods, and grass isn't one of them.  Repeat...GRASS HAS ALMOST ZERO NUTRITIONAL VALUE FOR HUMANS. IT IS ROUGHAGE.

Monavie is juice from the acai berry. It is touted to have antioxidant and other healing properties.  These aren't much supported by evidence. Again, eat a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables.  The acai is not a magic plant either.

  4. They are both awesome in different ways so it's a toss up,but Spirulina has both of them beat.

    Scep Doc IS CLUELESS!

  5. and i would suggest growing your own wheat grass because some can be contaminated causing food poisoning.

i grow my own once i heard that.
