What is helper.dll and helper.sig?

I have these files in my C:\Program Files\Common folder known as

helper.dll and helper.sig

What are these files, the folder pops up every time i start the computer. I don't just want to delete it because I have no idea what it would do.

Lavasoft has a free spy ware removal download. These dlls are tricky. Removal can sometimes make your machine go loco. Lavasoft will find these files and safely remove them. These particular files the helper dll has to do with face book and the loading of ads. The other thing also allows for simple adware to load onto your system. These things slow your PC down and really tend to aggravate the owner of an older PC.

Newer PCs also are at risk because these files are added into junk you download. Moral of the story: Don't download stuff you have no idea about.
