  1. I think this is the concept that you are looking for rather than a definition of high yield farming.   Basically, it is using all of the technology that we currently have to produce high yields all over the world and we will save the conversion of forested lands to agricultural lands .  Read the article and you will find the answer you are looking for far better than anyone has been able to tell you.

  2. HIgh yield farming is  farming made more productive with fertilisers, pesticides, and modern day machinery,  production of dairy and meat in confinement , etc.

This in turn reduces the natural habitat we transform in to farm lands for the food we need.

  3. High yield farming in our area is when more than one crop at a time is planted in the same field . winter wheat and then another grain is planted, as it grows the winter wheat is harvested, the other grain is ready by the fall producing two complimentary crops grown in the same area at the same time, only the harvest times are different this can be achieved with other combinations of crops they can provide nutrients for each other like a simultaneous crop rotation, the benefits are obvious twice the yeild from one field
