  1. homeschooling requires that a parent revive permission and matierials to educate their child at home. There are homeschooling networks where groups of homeschooled kids go on field trips and stuff.

  2. Here's an article called-What is internet Homeschooling....http://www.purehomeschooling.com/2008/08...

It's kind of like doing homework. You just do the work without a teacher lecturing.

    Best of Luck!

  3. I home school my 11 year old daughter and our days go like this.

    get up

    breakfast

    read for a while

I set her some math or spelling work to do

    Poetry or English Literature

    break for lunch

maybe watch something on TV if it is educational - Egyptians, History, etc

Go out for the afternoon - to the library or a trip to visit friends

She also plays Soccer, learns Piano and Voice, sings in two choirs, is an active Girl Scout, and we are volunteers in our community.

We belong to two home school groups - one meets once a week on Monday mornings and there are classes offered, such as Fencing, Karate, Tennis, Archery, Cooking etc.

The other group organizes workshops at our local University where the kids go monthly to learn Engineering, Computer Sciences etc.

Basically, Home Schooling is where the parents and/or the child direct the schooling - it can be formal, where the child or children are taught at home by their parents in a school-like setting, by using a curriculum that the parents have bought.

Or such as we do, the child learns the basic Math and Language at home and then we find things in our community where our daughter can learn as much as she wants about the topics that interest her.

Other people do what is called "Un-schooling" where the child learns what they want, when they want - the parents have the opportunity to expose their children to many interesting experiences and topics, and the children decide what they would like to learn about.

  4. are you serious????

you go to school but its at your home!!!

Your parent or what ever teaches you...

  5. being taught at home

  6. Homeschooling is parent directed education. Parents are the ones with a vested interest in the success of our children, and we taught them up until 5 so why would we not continue the process?

Parents choose the curriculum (which include those all important teachers guide, same as public school teachers), and facilitate the class. Sometimes we bring in tutors or professionals in fields that we may not be as strong in.

You will hear a lot of uneducated people spew the "socialization myth," so I will address that. Our kids are socialized in the real world, not the subculture of public school. My kids have tons of friends from all ages and backgrounds, not just a bunch of kids their own age and from there own zipcode. They also can hold a conversation with anyone, for 1 to 99 and use manners.

Hope this helps! Have a great day.

  7. Homeschooling (more often called 'home-education' outside of North America) happens when parents choose to exercise their right not to send their kids to school; instead the child's parents opt to educate him/her out of school.

For instance: I'm 15 years old and have been home-educated (homeschooled) all my life, as have all my brothers and sisters. None of us go to school as our parents decided they wanted us to be educated at home, not at school.

  9. homeschooling is a great answer for anyone who wants a different way of viewing school. if you need more focus on a certain subject, or you are way ahead of the bend and need more of a challenge, public schools hinder you. homeschooling you get to work at your own pace, which helps you learn better and retain the knowledge of what you get. (so you can homeschool your kids... )
