I'm looking at Processors for rebuilding my old computer. Some of the AMD have Hypertransport of 2000 Mhz what is that translated into FSB? is it the same as like 1333hmz fsb? Or is it better?

  1. Hmm.. you can't really compare HyperTransport to FSB, because they're different technologies.

But, if you really want to, you can compare their base clock frequencies:

For a HT of 2000 MT/s, it probably has a base clock freq. of 200 MHz.

For a FSB of 1333 MT/s, it probably has a base clock freq. of 333 MHz.

I hesitate to say FSB is better, but in this case, it probably is.  ^_^

As for FSB vs. L2 cache, it's hard to say, because the FSB can affect other components such as RAM and CPU frequency.  Try checking out the CPU charts at tomshardware.com for comparisons.
