What is ice water?

Contrary to every other answer, here is what I know as "ice water".

When I was a child my father liked what he called "ice water".

He kept a 1/2 gallon glass container in the refrigerator filled with plain old tap water, every time he poured himself a glass of "ice water" he would then refill the "ice water" container before replacing it back in the refrigerator.

He never added any ice cubes to it (neither in his glass or the container in the fridge) and obviously the "ice water" was a lot colder than the tap water.

So in fact it was actually "chilled water" but he, as well as everyone else, referred to it as "ice water".

1 cup water

4 ice cubes (more or less if wanted)

1) method fill a glass up with 1 cup water

2)place ice cubes into glass

notes:for a special twist change water to vodka ;D

If it helps, I do not think you are stupid for answering this.

Ice water can be water with ice in it.

OR it can be frozen water that has melted a bit and is a small amount of water and the rest is ice.
