Is fluoresence in diamonds something that is sought after, or no? What proportions should the diamond have? How big should the table be, and all of that?

  1. Well, the best website that I've found for information on diamonds (or precious stones) is http://www.my-precious.mobi.... I did some research before I picked out my engagement ring!

  2. why don't u take her to pick her own... you're obviously very uncertain... better idea: take her closest mate or her sister to the jeweller and get THEIR opinion

  3. You could think about diamond certificate so you can be sure that you're buying the real thing. Diamond certificate is really the small price to pay in order to ensure the quality of diamond you are purchasing. Diamond certificates are also making your buying job much easier, since each Diamond certificate has all elements of diamond quality(four Cs) verified by independent company which should really remove your suspicion about the quality of your purchased diamond.

  4. Cut is the most important of the four c's.  The cut determines how much it will sparkle.  Check out this website:

I saw a ring from this company in a jewelry store and I have never seen anything sparkle like this.  Just make sure you buy it at a good jeweler.  I wouldn't go to a chain or a store in your mall.

  5. I would think HER reaction would be important.  If she seems disappointed at something you shelled out a ton of money for, run the other direction.
