What is in-running betting? In-running betting is simply betting that takes place during the match, grand prix, tournament, etc, rather than beforehand.

It is an excellent facility for members to cut their losses or guarantee themselves a handsome profit or simply enjoy a no lose position in a particular market.

In-running betting gives bettors the control to act upon events that unfold during a match.

For example

John has backed West Ham to win their Premiership match, shown live on telly. He backed £100 at 2.0 [Even Money].

After 15 minutes West Ham score a goal and this price of 2.0 [Even Money] would no longer be available because the chances of West Ham winning the match have greater increased having gone one nil up;

Harry, another bettor, wants to back West Ham at 1.40 [2 to 5 or 2/5] for £100 and submits his bet that appears on the market grid waiting to be matched.

Now John would like to eliminate his risk and relax with his mates and 12 cans of Lager. He Accepts Harry’s bet of £100, and Lays it, via one of the betting exchanges and enjoys a no lose situation. This Lay bet is a saver for John that covers his original stake money should things go ‘wrong’.

If West Ham wins the match then John wins £100 from his original bet and loses £40 form his saver thus makes a profit of £60.

Had West Ham lost or Drawn John would have lost £100 from his original bet but won £100 as a result of accepting Harry’s £100 bet on West Ham to win which was his saver and therefore loses nothing.

i guess this explains in-running others are fee to add their examples to it.

    Yep, in-running betting is handy if the event has already started and you still want to have a wager on the outcome. It's useful in relatively long-running contests, like golf for instance. You can also get some good odds in in-running betting - say, if your team goes two goals behind and you still think your boys can get back into the game, you can put some money on and the odds are sure to be high.
