  1. i live here and eat them all the time and they are the same.......the only difference is that they cut them diffent......there are no precut hamburger pickels...

  2. Well as Wendsday from the Adams Family might say, with Real Germans! LOL Just kidding of course.

The above answer is most likely correct. The combinations of spices and way it is cooked and prepared I am sure is why. The soil can also make a bit of difference too!

  3. They use better ingredients.

  4. Most likely the actual spices and vinegar used as well as time allowed for pickling.

Here is the USA companies try to do a lot of short cuts to save money. You just can't fake real flavor. All those fake flavors manufactures and are called natural are just that they are fakes and don't came close to what a product should taste like. Most consumers do not know the difference anymore as they where raised on those fake flavors.

  5. Most of the German pickles have that sweet/sour flavor, it is completely different than any other place I have found them. One reason is they include less sugar in their pickling process than most other places. They are (as mentioned before) taking more time to complete the process with care as opposed to speed, and the exact location of the pickling process can make a difference as well (due to local water content, local spices, local... well you get the idea, kinda like a dirty water dog on Wall street in NY tastes different than the same dog cooked in ... Topeka Kansas....). Hope this helps some...
