What is in the water tower that saids your citys name?

this might just be the stupidest question ever but I will suck it in... The water towers, whats in them? I was once told that the water that we all use is in there. To me the tower is big but that does not seem like it would be enough for 15,000 people to shower and drink with.

Also its hard for me to believe water just sits in that tall thing, but then again it is called a water tower *so confused* hahaha ya I thought this would be the best place to ask dumb question.

All of the previous posts are partially correct, except filter guy.  There is water in every tower.  It is used for drinking water, fire protection, in some cases just for coolant at big industrial plants.  If you have more questions just visit my blog a freemoneyjakass.blogspot.com
