What is internet access like in San Jose and in Guanacaste?

Are internet cafe's plentiful? What kind of service providers are there outside of the city?

Internet cafes are plentiful in San Jose as well as all the tourist areas in Guanacaste. Many places will have high speed DSL but other will sill be on dial-up. The only ISP in Costa Rica is the national telephone company ICE

Internet cafe's are all over the place, especially in those areas. In San Jose there are DSL connections but most are dial up in the Guanacaste area. Where else are you planning on visiting. Also ICE is the national utility firm that runs all internet, cell phones, power, water, etc etc
