What is involved in converting Rear Barn doors to a Tailgate on a 89 Suburban 1500?

you will have to get new metal from LMC truck for the bottom of the opening once the doors are removed - replace that with the new stuff, then find and drill the holes for the tailgate parts..  I would say if you can find one in a junkyard get the gate and ALL the parts needed at once, plates inside the opening frame - all bolts, nuts switches etc..  I am doing the exact oposite trade right now, getting rid of the clam shell and going to barn doors..  its an event thats for sure - you email me at [e-mail] for more info or pictures - not sure what condition of parts you are looking for, but I have some stuff you can have laying around, the gate with broken glass, has motors in it - the plastic at the top where the window sits etc...
