I have a audi a4 1.9tdi 130bhp and i have been told to get i remapped for more bhp.

I seen air fillers on ebay that said they would give an extra 35bhp,but i read a few reports saying they give an extra 5-6bhp and they are a waste of money.

thanks for your help....

  1. Basically you take the ECU (computer) removed, send it to the company that does the re-mapping, then they send you the modded ECU and re-install it.

On turbo engines that has been detuned at the factory (many are), you can get dramatic increase in HP (like 30 HP to 50 HP).

As for the air filter - 5 HP would be generous.

    Good Luck...

  2. basically remaping re-programes the cars ecu.it changes values in certain components in the brain to fool it,changing timming/fuel air ratios etc...its done by laptop....the audi tdi engine respond very well to remapping...35bhp from a filter is bull, forget what they say...

  3. 35 Bhp from an air filter LOL

if it was that easy the manufacturer would have done it ! ! !

You probably only get 5bhp if the one you replaced was dirty anyway

  4. look for a device called a 'bluein'.its a diy job and its really easy. just plug in and tune, that simple. good thing is you can hook it up to your computer and get upgrades for your car
