What is is called when you want to have a beach view?

I'm looking for a beach view from my hotel/condo when I go on vacation in a few weeks, however I'm not quite sure what the difference between gulf view, gulf front water view, etc. What is it called when your room faces the ocean? Thanks!!!

They'll usually call it something like beach front, ocean front, ocean view, something like that. To be sure, though, I recommend you call the hotel because they could mislead you with the description. For example, they might say ocean view, but you'll be across the street or something, rather than directly on the beach.

well, depending on what body of water the hotel is next to.

ie

if the hotel is on the gulf of mexico or some other gulf, then they call it gulf view

on a bay?  bayview

on a ocean?  ocean view

on a beach?  beach view

in las vegas, they have strip view, facing the las vegas strip

wrapping things up, most hotels will have a good or great view and a crappy view.  they usually don't refer to the crappy view as anything, only hte good or great view.

i live in naples, florida.  they usually call the rooms facing the ocean 'beachfront' meaning your room faces the beach  could walk right out to the beach from the hotel lobby.  have fun!!
