What is it about other people's driving that "drives" you nuts (pun intended)?

When driving what do other drivers do that bug you the most and in all honesty, have yo ever done that very same thing yourself? Is it when they tailgate, when they drive too slow, pull out without even looking and cut you off, speeding, swerving in and out of highway traffic, ride their brakes, no turn signal, leaving a turn signal on because they are too deaf and blind to notice it's on, letting other people pull out in front of you just before they make their turn onto another road, using handicap parking when not handicap....

what is it that irks you the most, maybe it's something I haven't listed.

  1. it bugs me when the person in front of me drives 30km in a 50 zone. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. & no, I don't do that

  2. 1. Not using their turn signal, or not following what their turn signal intended, or even worse, turning in the opposite direction (yeah I've seen that).

    2. Making turns from the wrong lane. This is DANGEROUS. I once saw a guy take the right lane and turn left. WTF?

As for people who drive slow, it doesn't really bother me, as long as there is a lane to overtake. Even if there isn't, it's OK as long as they're not too far below the speed limit. I'm never in a hurry to get anywhere. Driving is not something you should do in a hurry.

  3. You just about covered it!  It annoys me when people are so busy talking on their cell phone that they don't notice what they're doing - driving too close or going too fast.  Reading the newspaper while driving gets to me, too.  Women putting on their makeup in the rear view mirror going 55 mph.

  4. I hate everything you said! lol.I guess the thing I hate most lately is people driving too slow and riding their brakes for no reason. They are awful with this in Florida.Oh and just pulling out in front of you without even looking!! My horn is broke so it makes me more angry that I cannot even honk!!!!!!

  5. Someone who passes me and then immediately wants to turn off.Whatever is that about?? I did once get a good laugh out of that very thing.when the person from the opposite direction starts turning at the same time.He didn't give the guy any room at all and he got the ditch, small ditch to be sure but he certainly never got there quicker by making me stop, after he passed me.I just sat there and laughed about it.

  6. What I hate most is lack of attention.  Many of the problems you have listed above are related to this lack of attention.  For example, when they're driving too slow, they're obviously not paying attention, or else they'd pull over to let you pass.  Or if they pull out without looking, that's a clear example of not paying attention.

I can deal with aggressive drivers...at least I know that they're watching what's going on, on the road.  It's the space cadets out there who REALLY scare me!

  7. I cannot stand it when people refuse to turn right on a red light! It's perfectly legal and expected. There are no cars around at all. The light is extremely long. But they insist on waiting until the light turns green to turn right. All the while 15 cars sit behind them just waiting....

  8. It's tailgating, for me, for sure.  I know that the intention, on their part, is to make me go faster, but in reality, it actually slows me down.  If they are too close behind me, then I find it necessary to drive more slowly so that, if we *both* have to stop quickly, we'll have more stopping time & when they rear-end me, they will cause less damage/injury.

  9. It drives me crazy to be behind a driver who is looking for a parking space in the parking lot, while still in traffic.  The person will come to a complete stop, then slowly turn into the parking lot -- and they always have a gigantic car.

Around here, we call them "Sunday Drivers" -- people who drive about 10 - 15 miles per hour below the speed limit and you can see their heads turning back and forth looking at various scenery.  Wouldn't be so bad if my husband and I weren't on a tight schedule like getting to a doctor appointment -- or have been at the doctor's office for hours and need to get home fast to use the bathroom!

Having two turn lanes with a light, and the person in front of me wants to suddenly be in the other lane as soon as the light changes to green -- then, I have to sit through the light waiting for all the traffic from the other lane to pass so the driver in front of me can change lanes.  Grrrrr!

I could go on, but will stop now .... my blood pressure is rising!
