What is it about shows featuring white upper class/upper middle class teenagers that make them so palatable?

'd like to see more shows with some broke white people who deal with more than just petty relationship issues. Maybe a show about some white people living in the ghetto. Party of Five featured one f'd up struggling family, but was it the last of it's kind? Is television doomed to recycling programs like Dawson's Creek and 90210? What makes shows like One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl popular among teens when they don't even deal with anything original?

Who wants to watch a TV family dealing with all the c**p of real life? Once the viewer gets off the couch, they are already living it.

Yeah because, shows like that make it seem like white people every where are rich and don't live on section 8. So wrong, so other races who think white people have it good, some do but some don't just like any body else.

It is a way for people to take a break from the real world I guess, and please tell me there is not a Dawson's Creek remake in the works.. I still can't believe they are remaking 90210 they should have left it alone it's classic in my eyes... now it will be trash
