  1. Because Romeo and Juliet were also young and in conflict with their parents, a common situation for young people.

Here are links to a couple of study guides about the play. They should help you. Also do a search here in the Yahoo Answers search window for Romeo and Juliet as hundreds of questions have been asked here about it, and those Q's and A's should also help you.

  2. They have been in relationships that both families don't like one another, due to race or class discrimination so because of that they don't want their son or daughter to be together so they both end up sneaking around, getting caught by parents, siblings or extended family members it reaches to the point where they want to run away, just to be together and come up with a plan that backfires and in the end nobody wins

  3. They're young and in love. So much so that they try to create their own reality without regard to the possible consequences. They feel that they are invincible, a characteristic of all youth that fades over time.

Also, there is the fact that their parents are trying to tell them what to do and who they can be friends with, and issue that many teens deal with on a daily basis.
