Its the rating for the hotel/motel. Its like when a good movie gets 9/10. The more stars the better, like a five star hotel would be so nice, it would seem like an apartment and would cost like $300/night,  and a one star hotel would be the place where someone would have a meth lab in and would cost like thirty dollars a night.
