Its happening everywhere in the US right now. But I forget what its called can anyone enlighten me?

    I just researched your question a bit and the most common terms I could find are "government property lease" or "public land lease".

    But it is a thought-provoking question. Seems like if public property is leased, e.g. to an oil company or a utility, we should all get a cut, like a check in the mail.
