  13. A coup d etat, we have had a lot of it when democracy was given back to the people by way of people power in 1986. Though not even a single one succeeded. It usually transform a civilian government into a military government and Martial Law takes effect, a military junta is usually form with a marginal civilian participation. This type of a government take over usually boils down to a dictatorship and often times leads to purges of corrupt political bigwigs. That was the event that transform Burma or Myanmar into the present government setup.
