ok, here is an example of what I am talking about. Our five year old son bought cocoa puffs for my husband for his birthday, fully expecting that he would be able to eat some. We are trying to explain to him that this is not how you give a gift...:)

  1. Greedy, if it were an adult.  It's natural for children not to understand this, so it's great you are explaining it.

  2. Presumptuous!

Once you give a gift, you have no right to expect to be able to use it!

    Cheers :-)

  3. I don't think there is an actual word for it but it really depends on what the gift was and if she only bought it for you for her own use!  If she bought me a dvd and wanted to watch it then thats cool

  4. I don't know if there is an actual word for it but the one I would use is tacky!!!

  5. Sense of entitlement

  6. Rude and inconsiderate.

  7. The term is "Indian giving," however, I haven't heard it used too much lately, probably for reasons of political correctness.

  8. This is your son we are talking about not a complete stranger, and it's only a box of cocoa puffs not a Lear Jet FGS.  You and your husband need to grow up and act your age.
