  1. lacto -vegetarian eats and drinks dairy

    ovo- vegetarian eats eggs

    lacto - ovo eats both

  2. The original definition of "vegetarian" coined by the Vegetarian Society in about 1847 included dairy and eggs.

Now, some people call it "lacto-ovo-vegetarian."

Indian/Hindu vegetarians generally don't eat eggs but use dairy products. Some people would call that "lacto-vegetarian." But I married into a Hindu family and I don't think I ever heard a Hindu say they are "lacto-vegetarian"; they just say they're vegetarian.

Using the word "vegetarian" is generally less specific than "vegan" (which means no animal products whatsoever).

  4. flextarian I like that! I hate those people who wanna be like hypocrite b/c people aren't hardcore vegan. If those people really cared they would be happy that people are doing anything to cut down on animal product consumption. they are the real hypocrites!

  5. It is called a vegetarian.  No need to add the extra words like lacto-ovo.

  6. If you eat no animal flesh (including the flesh of sea creatures), but you consume dairy and eggs, you are called ovo-lacto (or lacto-ovo, but the former is easier to pronounce) vegetarian or just simply vegetarian.

  7. lactovovegetarian

  8. i think you're right.

  9. Lacto-ovo vegetarian.

  10. Lacto-ovo vegetarian if you want to be specific, but you can just say vegetarian.

  11. Ovo-lacto vegetarianism eliminates the eating of all meat, including fish , but allows the consumption of animal products such as eggs and milk.

  12. Lacto-ovo vegetarian.

I think that includes all dairy products too such as ice cream, cheese, etc.

If you also eat fish and seafood I believe it's called Flexitarian.

  13. Vegetarians, dont eat any form of meat (the animal itself, this incudes fish, shell fish and geletine (or how ever its spelt) but the do eat anima, products such as eggs, milk and cheese. vegans dont eat anything to do with animals at all and then u get c**p veggies...  pescetarians who eat fish but not other animals... they make no sense...
