This happens to me all the time but I have no idea how to look it up because it is such an obscure idea.

  1. Cliché: A trite or overused expression or idea

I've also heard the expression "tired words" for words that have lost all meaning due to overusage - such as "awesome"

  2. Brain washing ?    Boredom ?    Inanity?

Your repetitive use of any word does not reduce its meaning for others as it has an objective life of its own out side your understanding. It is only your state of mind that has been altered.
