I do a disk clean-up which cleans the un wanted files and A defragment to put files together which makes it run faster.

click start, then go to run, type in msconfig then click ok.

I think you mean "format" but the defragmentation mean to rearrange files om harddisk so it became easier for operating system to reach them faster
