He is both, yet people look at his skin color. Obviously, they are closer to Black than White. Therefore, people say he is Black. Nothing wrong has happened yet, and let's pray for that.

    If he walks down the street anywhere in America , he's considered a black man .  If he drives into a white neighborhood at night ... the cops will stop him cause he's black .

His mother is white or american, which also makes him american. So that is what makes him African American (or "black" as you woud say) Hope that helps you understand.
