I'm rooting for Tito but this is a tough order. Machida is such an excellent striker I'm afraid he catches Ortiz. How can Tito win this fight?

  1. Tito needs to come in like the "Old Tito" get a takedown, put Machida against the fence, and pound on him relentlessly. Machida is a thinking man's fighter, and if Tito gives him time to get into his game plan, it won't be good.

On a personal note, I want Tito to win just to tick off Dana White.

  2. i dont think he can win. the fame got to his head.

  3. The only way Tito will win this fight is if he lands a kick to Machida's exposed brain.  Other than that happening, I think Machida will dominate the entire 8 minutes of the fight.

That's right... Machida by referee stoppage due to strikes midway through the second round.

  4. Tito has to get Machida to the ground and keep him there. The safest place for Tito to be is on the ground. Standing up, Tito is probably going to get his block knocked off.

Tito needs to get side control, or stay in Machida's guard and ground and pound him. I doubt he will get mount on Machida. Machida is also a BJJ black belt, so he'll need to avoid the submissions.

Tito could win this fight, if he can impose his will. If I were Tito, I nullify the striking by getting the clinch, or those famous double underhooks and/or the double leg takedown.

Tito decisioned Wanderlei Silva in UFC 25 in this manner. If he can do it again, he'll win.

  5. close the distance, clinch against the cage, score a takedown and start dropping elbows

  6. a knockout or a tapout he can't let the judges have it his popularity is waining in the ufc

  7. Wrestling takedowns and GnP.  The Tito Ortiz in his prime would dominate Machida.  But past is past.....
