I've just heard a few rumors about how dangerous mexico city can be and im real worried about being alone there for 2 hrs with my daughter...and no, no one will be able to come with me....if you have ever been there, do they speak english and is it easy to find my gate for my next flight? or is everything in spanish and complicated? 1. I'm guessing it'll be hectic and stressing since that's how ALL airports are. good luck in Veracruz!

  2. Well i live in MExico and i've been to the Mexico City International Airport plenty of times. Its safe enough but be alert and do not let your guard down. Let me put it this way its safe enough to feel comfortable there but i wouldnt ever let my 15 year old son walk around there by himself. Language wise there are plenty of english speakers but basic spanish wouldnt hurt. if your looking for the restrooms just say Donde Esta El Bano. you should be fine but be careful there! i wish you safe happy travels.

  3. its  safe and there are signs easy to read and its perfect that ur there for 2 hours since the gates are far apart so as soon as you know where your gate is i would starting out to it. also its safe since there are many officals just watch out just like you would any where else

  4. I don't see the reason to be afraid , the airport has been recently renovated and even if you don't speak a word spanish you will find your way around. There are several english signs with indications on how to access gates. The airport is VERY SAFE, there are hundreds of policemen (federal police, local police and private security officers).  The airport receives HUNDREDS of flights from anywhere in the world every day, Mexico City is an important business place so you shouldn't be concerned at all. If you find yourself in the need to speak to someone in english, anyone from the airline you fly should help you or you can proceed to the counters of the MANY american airlines that operate here (American, United, Continental, Delta, Northwest, Alaska Airlines, etc). The city has dangerous places but it also receives MILLIONS of tourists every year. People in the city is very kind to tourists, so don't be afraid to ask for help.

    Relax and enjoy the flight

  5. Dude, it's all your mom's fault, man.

  6. Don't worry. I just came back from Mexico and I traveled with my friend (two women) from Europe and back. So we were two times many hours at the Benito Juarez airport in Mexico City and everything was O.K. Enjoy your trip and, once again, don't worry.

  7. It is a modern, clean and efficient airport and yes it is absolutely safe.It is quite large so don't wander too far.Enough people speak English ,especially in the international area that you shouldn't have a problem. You will find plenty of places to eat near where you come into the terminal.I assure you you have nothing to worry about.

    Enjoy Veracruz.

  8. you are in an international airport...most of the sign are bilingual or picture signs anyways.  people in an airport are there because they are flying....meaning, they have enough money to fly...they are not dangerous and they will not steal/hurt you.  it's perfectly safe.  it's a modern place, personally i think it's needs a renovation...but it's modern.  you can even sit down and have a starbucks!  however....two hours really isn't that long of a layover.  i suggest you find your gate and don't dally along.  lots of people will speak english....but i recommend asking someone who looks about 18-30.  most young mexicans have taken english, and they know at least enough to answer your simple questions.

  9. There are in every city problem zones and insecure times to be in others, but OUTSIDE of the airport.

The airport is a very modern, clean area with enough shops, restaurants, people and police officers controlling the area.  But pay attention, because sometimes the purse/wallet or baggage "disappear", if you leave them alone.

ALL the international airports in the whole world have to write  the general information bilingual. Every Mexican, who studied the high school can speaks more or less English, better so higher his/her position (don´t expect it from the cleanning staff).

There are many informations points to check the flights, they page the departs/arrivals... well everything is normal, like in all the others international airports...

  10. I haven't been to the airport im mexico in years but i will tel you this their are people who do speak inglish not all but some also the terminal isn't that hard to figure out plus it would help if you learn some basic spanish bath room terminal resturant you know,
