  1. No..there is not a good chance you will see combat. they might put you on tower guard but still then not a good chance. in the intell world you will be pretty much producing products...almost like book reports on terrorist activities and trends. in the mourning you will have to do a shift chage over with the oncoming shift a give a little briefing..but mainly you will be sitting at a computer all day reading reports and giving briefing..if you want to see combat it is def not the job for you

  2. It depends on which service you are in and which type of intelligence. the 2600 field in the Corps even has it's own Radio Recon teams.

The grunts are pretty well guaranteed combat, where as intelligence could swing either way. It's definitely a bit 'fluffier' deployment. More phone calls home, etc...

If you're interested in intelligence, but not so much the ground pounding aspects, you should probably avoid the Marines or Army. If you wouldn't mind living on a ship, the Navy has lots of travel opportunities and generally sailors aren't too close for comfort when it comes to combat.

Ask a Navy recruiter about the CT field. I'm basically a Marine Corps equivalent... as far as schooling. Best of luck in whatever you decide.

And remember, if you're interested in intel: keep your nose clean!

  3. Not as likely. You will probably be put in a support unit and stay in a safer place to ensure you can do your job without interuption.
