  1. Pretty much uneventful. They ask you if you're carrying any fruit, why you're visiting, how long, stuff like that. You show your passport. You cross...

  2. I live on the Windsor, Ontario - Detroit, Michigan, and cross all the time.

Assuming you have the required ID (and I assume you have already looked into what is needed at this time for a land crossing), you can expect to be asked to hand over your ID at the customs booth (they run your vehicle plate number through the computer as well).  They'll likely ask you the purpose of your visit, the length of time you'll be in Canada and where exactly you're going/staying.  They may ask you the relationship you have with others in the car.  And they'll ask you what you're bringing into the country (certain things - guns, etc. - being illegal).  They may, rarely, ask you how much money you're bringing into the country.  Just be honest, polite, and to the point.  Customs officers are not known for their sense of humour so don't be a smart-aleck, just keep it short and sweet.  Just relax, if you have nothing to hide, you shouldn't have a problem.

There is a slight chance, if they think  anything is suspicious, they may send you and your car over for a "secondary inspection" in which case you will be asked to step out of your vehicle and they will search the car.

  3. SCARY!!!!!!!!!!  i'm always afraid i'll say the wrong thing even though i have nothing to hide.  those guards don't have much of a sense of humor.

  4. uh....u show em ur passport and you go in, badda bing badda boom, in some places, passports are not even needed, just some id or proof u are american

  5. The only time anyone in my family has ever been stopped at the US/Canadian border (Niagara/Buffalo) was two years ago when I failed to realize that I was sporting a mustache and beard while my ID photo was taken clean shaven.  After being asked to pull over and show my printed proof of my booked lodgings to an agent inside, I was allowed into Canada without further incident.  Just make sure you are honest, serious, have everything in order and look like your ID photo when you cross.

  6. As you enter the pearly Gates to Canada you feel a warm feeling coming over you
