Alright, I'm writing a book and in the book one of the character's is hooked on cocaine and is suddenly forced to quit.

So, I need to know:

What effects does a person feel when they suddenly stop snorting/smoking cocaine? Is the process like the vomiting and shaking that accompanies the withdrawal from heroin? Or does it have other side effects?

thanks in advance

  1. let me ask my sister-in-law brb

  2. ya... sure ur writing a book.. or ur scared to go cold turkey and were embarrased to tell the truth on yahoo.. or i can be wrong LOLL

  3. There are no withdraws like there is with heroin. Cocaine does NOT cause physical dependence, but it is extremely addicting.

Usually a person forced to quit coke will do anything to get more. If it is an especially severe case, the coke will seem more important than anything else in there life. Just having a gram or so around (not even snorting it yet) can make them feel more content and at ease, knowing they are, at least, able to do more. Not having access to more makes life seem bleak and pointless.

There are no physical symptoms, but they are almost guaranteed some of the worst paranoia and despair of their life.

  4. Massive urge for more cocaine, paranoia, severe anxiety, depression, insomnia, lethargy, increased appetite, ulcers inside nose, swollen gums, sore throat, lasts for about a week.

The hardest thing is trying not to take anymore and getting on with your life.

  5. Well, They would have withdrawal symptoms, find any excuse to take cocaine and they would go pale faced and start gaining weight.

    Good luck with your story!!
