I want to go to london for a foreign exchange program for 2 weeks i would like to know what its like. is it nice and picturesque like everyone interprets it to be or is it totally different. If possible, i'd like to know some detail about what London is like particularly weather, the "picturesqueness" and how nice it is to be there, the people and what they're like.

  1. I love it. Weathers not brilliant but theres loads of cafes to sit, good for shopping plus you can go celebrity spotting xD Its worth going

  2. yea it is very clean and for the size crime is very low (apart from some areas). its kind of like paris but alot bigger and busier

one of my favorite things is how many different groups of people there are. its like every type of person in the world you will find in london

  3. it rains a lot

its the most expensive city in the world

    its clean

    people are helpful

  4. London is brilliant! Best place in the world! Central London is really pretty (I think it is anyway) The architecture is amazing. The shops are the best, they have some really unusual, unique ones.  Covent Garden is great for unusual shops. Hyde park is lovely.  The weather is unreliable.  It's mild most of the time.  England is quite a rainy country.  The people in London....Some of them are total w*nkers.  There's a lot of arrogant pricks there...they're usually the men who work in the City.  A lot of them have a superiority complex and they really do need to get over themselves.  Usually the horrible people are the ones who aren't actually from London.  People from London- generally speaking- are friendly, helpful and very down to earth.  And they have really nice cockney accents!

  5. absolutely AMAZING!!!

its not very picturesque - if you want that go to switzerland or something

    it's old, it's modern, it's rich, it's famous

centeral london is great - tourists attractions include....

    - london eye (go early and on a clear day i.e not raining)

    - tate modern

    - st. paul's cathedral

    - big ben and houses of parliament (they are just nice to look at...not really anything to do there)

    - westminster abbey

    - museums like science and natural history

    - the city (financial)

    - tower of london (not actually a tower)

    - tower bridge (the big draw bridge)

    - go in an open top bus and see ALL of it

if you like going shopping, go to oxford street and around there....if you are rich go to harrods and if you don't like crowds, go to high street ken

there are free festivals like the notting hill festival (which was last monday) and there are always things on at trafalger square

and of course there is amazing night life

the weather is cold in winter and cold in summer

    and it rains a lot

    have a nice trip

  6. it is nice of course--in the centre hugely busy and it is picturesque-its expensive though as a previos reply says.the motto is its a busy city-not free of crime-but it is generally safe

i suggest keep your purse/wallet well hidden in an inside pocket not in handbags or backpacks-pickpocketing does happen. simply use your commonsense

and avoid areas on the outskirts like rough estates/poorly lit areas.etc  in the centre you will not be bored theres loads to see and do.if you want a cheap lunch eat at 12 til 2 most restaurants do three courses for 10pounds.avoid night time meals the price triples. for cheaper travel buy a one day all zones travelcard about £6 you can use it on bus train tram tube docklands rail etc and its the cheapest way to travel--buy at rail station ticket offices--don't use the much publicised oystercard--its a con!!!
