What is it like in Tres Cantos?

Hi, Tres cantos is quite a particular location. Its about 30 km from Madrid and is mainly a dormitory town - people live there in general because the apartments are cheaper and the quality-price relation is better than in Madrid. I lived there and I do not fit this description anyway. The main thing is if you live in tres Cantos you need a car since everythin even within Tres Cantos is at enough distance that it is too much otherwise. Driving into Madrid at peak hours is a pain, specially in the morning traffic since there is always traffic jam. Its mainly around 10 floor buildings more or less OK aethetically, and has also some advantages.

U are outside Madrid yet close

The true countryside is very near

Its a calm and friendly place

it quite close to Madrid´d Universidad Autonoma, not to confuse with Madrid main university, but a good university and large anyhow.

It on the north of Madrid so North west and east are easily accesde by car.

only 30 km is el pantano the atazar a beautiful large artifical lake between beautiful mountains andl scenery,  and warm clean water to bathe and windsurf or fish and boating.

NEAR m-30 AND m-40 Madrid´s main belt-ways.

negatives are:

traffic jums

badly connected - at least before the bus and metro connections where to seldom yet this might have changed, not been there many years

often its away enough so U feel lazy driving down to Madrid

Usually unless you are going to buy a flat or go to nearby university or in my case I worked nearby its too far from Madrid. However the place is nice and quite normal. As I say depending on your reason to move there.

No reasons related to Tres Cantos then I would say its a slight handycap, specially if you do not have a Car.
