What is it like in a iraq as a cavarly scout?

What do you do? is it practically infantry? HAS ANYONE OF THE CAV SCOUTS ACTUALLY DID A RECON MISSION?

  1. From my experience being attached to a STRYKER unit, it's generally medium infantry.  That means your operations "patrols" are on a STRYKER vehicle rather than on foot.  There may be more, I do not know as I was only a Signal Corps guy, not directly involved in all of their affairs.


  2. my husband was with the 1/40th CAV out of Alaska. they were in South Baghdad. They did recon missions. they had a 80% combat rate when they went outside the wire. They'd pull security at peoples houses; listen to the religious sermons and take pictures of the people coming out of the mosque; all sorts of things that I cant think of right now. But yeah, he has kicked in a few doors. They arrested terrorists alot
