What is it like in a minimum security prison?

what is life like in a minimum security prison, are there any videos or books I can read to get an idea?

A lot of them are like dorms almost which are still maintained by correctional officers. A lot of the inmates in minimum security prisons get to do things such as community service, work within the prison, etc...

It is worth noting that each state is different however...a lot of minimum security prisons try to set the inmate up for success upon release as most if not all of them will be released at some point in the future.
