I may be moving to Baltimore Maryland close to Washington DC (college park area) the beginning of next year.

I was wondering what others thought of it. Is it nice safe…etc?

  1. Well, I live in Annapolis, Maryland and frequently go to visit Baltimore and DC. Baltimore is nice, but the Inner Harbor can be very dangerous. It wouldn't be the place to go walking alone in at night. College Park is nice though. Temperatures are great, and sailing/boating is a very popular recreational activity in Annapolis. DC is lovely, I always have loved it. There are many things to do in this area, and many things to take part in. I feel special when I can participate in DC happenings and see big world leaders. There is so much history in Maryland too! Lots of good restaurants here too!

    Best of luck to you!

  2. I live in college park and I love it. The majority of College Park is a college campus, so there are tons of stores around. Metro access is so easy here, and we're close enough to D.C. to get there relatively soon, but not too close to have to deal with all of the traffic etc. College Park tends to be safer than other areas of P.G. county. There are lots of cops around, since it is a college campus, which in turn drops the crime rate. Feel free to e-mail me with any other questions or concerns that you have. I've lived here my whole life, and I truly love it.

  3. As a Maryland resident, there are many places that I love, and others that I just don't care too much for. Annapolis is lovely, College Park is A college town if that is attactive to you, Baltimore depends. In most of my experiences, Baltimore is pretty dirty in my past experience, especially on the water (I boat every weekend to different marinas), Even the Inner Harbor can be nasty at times. Like any city, you also risk the crime element. In the DC metro area, crime is a daily factor unfortunatley, and that does not relate to any particular "city". All in all, I would feel safe during the day in most areas, but derinately no by myself during the nightfall.

  4. I live in Baltimore, and it is not as bad as people say it is.Crime is going down.It has a great, fun and unique  culture with the club music, downtown, crabs and it's a unique city, been here all my life, and I hang out in Towson, MD because It has the best mall close to Baltimore. If you live in the middle of the city you will see flashing police cameras at  almost every corner. But other than that B-more rules,it's the best.Plus, they are remodeling and  the crime is moving out of the city and into the surrounding counties.I agree with the answer above mine,College Park is nice.
