I am thinking of applying to join the Police in the next 12 months and was just hoping for some feedback on what the job is like.

Thanks in advance!

  1. Ive been in the job for 4 years, both in and out of uniform.

Its a good job if your motivated, and want to do it for the right reasons.

Personally i found that as an officer your welfare is ignored by management, your overworked, have to do overtime a lot, get no thanks for anythign at all.

You get abused my members of the public, and supposed to just turn the other cheek, and you generally put a lot of work into a case for people to walk from court!

But if you can go through all that and know that youve done your best, an you can live with that, then its a good job.

  2. It's fun and fulfilling, but not wallet filling.  Great benefits and job security, but it gets old when you want to buy a house or something...
