  1. You work 100 hours a week while at sea.  When you get a liberty port you get some time off to kick back and relax.  Local tour companies will offer sightseeing tours while in liberty ports.  For instance, in Kenya I took a 5 day photo safari.


  2. I have no experience , but as a seaman. you might be on the boat or the carrier usually. thats my guess. I also think it depends on your job ,

  3. It all depends on your rate. A seaman is just an E-1 to E-3 so it really depends on your actual job. On a ship there are extreme differences between what Seaman do. You may chip paint every day, and paint the side of the ship in port, or sit in the AC all day and fix computers. Port calls are the same for everyone, regardless of your rate... Some rates just have more fun....
