I am deciding on whether to pursue a career in Education or in Health and Wellness. I do know that I want to help children in anything possible. I just wanted to get some feedback and opinions from teachers or anyone in healthcare that work strictly with children. What are the pros/cons for the job position you hold? Do you see yourself doing this till the day you retire? Also, can you give me some advice on how to pursue a career working with children? I want to get a bachelor's degree on-line for sure. Any help is beneficial. God bless all of you!

  1. I cannot answer your question properly but I just thought I'd give you my thoughts.

I'm 15 and I recently did my work experience at a primary school for 2 weeks! I had the best time of my life! I worked with year one children ( aged 5/6 years old) and it was such a great experience! The satisfaction I got from working with the children was unbelievable! I loved it so much, I went back for another week!

The teacher I was with told me that the work is great and she absolutely loves teaching the children! She used to be a nurse but she says that she prefers her current job. However, she said that the downside was all the work you had to put in!

I am determined to pursue my dreams and one day become a primary school teacher!

  2. I have been teaching for 5 years and love every minute of it. Starting out the pay is not the best, but what many people do not realize is that teachers get raises just like everyone else and you do have the opportunity to be quite successful in the teaching field. Also, insurance benefits are excellent, and they cost very little(I had to have an expensive surgery due to fertility problems and we did not have to pay one cent). You will spend time at home working. However, once you have a routine established it truly is not that bad. I love working with my students, l love it when I see the expression on a student's face when they get something that you have taught them, and it is a wonderful feeling when I know that I have helped one of my students. I am definitely going to be teaching until it is time for me to retire. If you go into the teaching field I would recommend that you also get your Masters. I got mine and it equals an extra $5000 per year. Good Luck in whatever you choose to do.
