What is it like to be apart of a blended family?

For example:

- Does everyone get along right away?

- Do you move into a house already owned or buy a new one?

- Is it hard to not take the side of your kids over your spouses?

Just wondering what it's like to be apart of a blended family.

Thanks.

  1. it is the same and you treat eachother the same aswell seen as you may not have their blood but yo do love eachother.

  2. ive been a stepchild all my life. then i married a man who had 5 kids. i had 2. they moved into my single wide trailer. then we bought a modular home with 2 baths and 4 bedrms. this was in 1989. yea its hard. i didnt like his oldest daughter at al , she felt the same 4 me. anyway there all gone now. just me an hubby. it was a struggle but we made it. 2 of his kids still dont like usm and 1 og mine has passed away, but were happy and oh so quiet in outr big ole house all alone except for our 2 siamese catd and our shih-tzu puppy, all in the house.

  3. It depends on the people, I've had friends whose step-family treated them all the same, my step father is wonderful and truth be told I like him better than my own father at times. When my father remarried my stepmother made it clear to everyone but my father that she hated my sister and that neither of us was ever going to be a part of the family, now, after about 7 years my father is getting a divorce to her. My sister still hates my father for it and to make things worse he was in another serious relationship with a younger oman before the divorce was even over.

  4. i've been apart of a blended family my whole life. i have 2 half brothers. they are a lot older than me and their father isn't involved. My mom married my dad and he says they are his own children and they call him dad. we were born and we are a really close family :]
