What is it like to fly Delta?

Question

I'm going to Italy in about two weeks and our group will be flying Delta. I've only flown American and I enjoyed it. However, I have heard mixed reviews for Delta. Some say it's mediocre and others say it's downright cheap! What are y'alls opinions on this airline?

Also, we'll be flying from Orlando to Cincinatti before heading off to Roma. Have any of you been to Cincinatti's airport? I've flown out of Orlando before (to O'Hare in Chicago), but when my group heard that we were going to Cincinatti, everyone groaned! Is there a reason, or were they just disappointed because they couldn't fly out of JFK or Newark?

So, any info on Delta and Cincinatti's airport would be greatly appreciated! I've gone to both websites, but since they are partial to their own company (obviously), it wasn't much help.

I wish I could give you glowing reports regarding Delta, but I've found them to be one of the worst airlines on nearly every point. They also have some of the most uncomfortable coach class cabins. Attached is a couple of airline rating reports

Zagat's 2005 survey of airlines and airports didn't havr a lot of good things to say about American carriers or Airports:

"...United and USAirways all saw their overall ratings drop by at least 30% since the last survey was conducted in 2001."

I don't know what the problem is with Cincinnati's airport, other than it's not New York. The best thing about it is that it had the 2nd best on-time percentage (82.65%) in the nation in 2005. By contrast, JFK was only 70.12% I'm sure the reason you're landing their is because it's a hub for Delta. But it's a little out of the way considering your destination.

Cinci airport isn't bad. It is small. They do have stores and resurants past the checkpoint so you'll have plenty to do if you have a layover. This airport is great because they have smoking areas indoors. Very rare anymore. Cinci is a hub for Delta. We fly them to Jamaica and it seems nice. Snack, drinks, nice for a plane ride. I like Cinci airport better than Columbus. I ahve flown out of Ohare and Newark also. I like Cinci the best. It is small but n ice. Don't worry over the airport. If you friends are groaning about that now, just think what you are in for when you get to your final destination!
