I am a WVU fan but have always liked Marshall. Since I can no longer afford, scratch that, sanely pay what WVU is asking for season tickets I don't want to miss on the Saturday experiences. I also am just a huge fan of College football in general. I lived in Orlando, FL for several years, and went to UCF games but there was absolutely no atmosphere there. Are Marshall games exciting? Could I still enjoy myself with an $88.00 season ticket in the end zone? I sadly have never been to the games but for a couple years when Randy Moss and Chad Pennington were there. I know it was exciting then, however is it normally exciting?

  1. I went to Marshall from 2001-2005. I am also from Ohio and go to many Ohio State games which are on another level compared to Marshall games. Marshall games have lost some of their hype now the down seems to be in a recession and are not what they used to be. While a student there, I went to most of the home games and seem many games with empty seats.

The games will compare nothing to when Pennington, Moss, or Leftwich were there, but they are still something to do and for $88 I would go to every home game if I was still down there.

I actually am going down this fall for a game and to visit.

  2. I've not missed a Herd home game since '92. Much better than a WVU game. The people are nicer, the tailgates are way better than WVU. Yeah, we're losing a lot right now, but the games are still fun. I encourage any WVU fan to come to Huntington and check out our stadium and attitude. Marshall will be on an upswing soon. Nows the perfect time to step away from embarassing WVU (racist coaches, false degrees, the whole Rich-Rod thing) and get into Marshall, a school with a not-too-far-away good future.
