What is it like to live in a rural area?

Question

I just have a few questions anyone who learns in the country... what do you like/dislike about it? What things do you do for fun? How do you like the general feel of it? What are some examples of good rural areas to raise a family? Does living in the country really feel "down home"?

You don't have to answer all those, I'm just curious. Thanks! =)

Oh, Lucy...If you go there, check out myspace.com/dezdweller.  I wrote a blog about a day in my life, as well as some about various animals.

I live on a fifteen acre rescue ranch in the S/E Arizona desert.  Four horse, two burros, a mule, ostriches, ducks, geese, cattle, goats, chickens, dogs and cats currently live here (that changes from time to time).  My day starts with feeding and watering and ends with feeding and watering.  In between it's hikes to Indian ruins, natural rock slides and cold creeks in the Pinaleno Mountain range, semi precious rocks, snakes, scorpions, javelina and mountain lion in the backyard, quail songs in the morning - no traffic sounds, no overheard arguments or hearing someone else's TV or music...peace, crickets and full moons.

Dislikes?  Ants.  That's it...

"Down home"?  In the evening, you sit on your front porch.  You've collected the eggs, the bread dough is rising and you have a counter full of just picked vegetables from the garden.  Feels like home to me.

I love living in rural areas, I hate almost everything about urban living. As far as what could you do for fun, the possibilites are endless, your more free in the rural areas than you are in the urban areas. two of my favorite things to do are to have a big bon fire with roast pork, also hiking, got to love that.

The only complaint  I have about rural living is that I have no complainst lol I hope that helps.

I dont really know what down home means but if its good then I would say most definately.
