What is it like to live in the Olympia, WA area?

  1. I lived in Tacoma before (half hour drive north of Olympia) and my dad worked in Olympia.

    Olympia is the capital of washington but it's just a small city (population less than 50,000). It's quiet and traffic is not much. Crime rate is very low.

    Rain fall is about 55 inches per year. November and December are the rainiest months.

    If you want to go to big cities, you'll have to drive north to seattle (1.5 hrs) or south to Portland (2.5 hrs).

    But Olympia is still big enough to do fun stuff also. It got nice restaurants and shopping centers. It has the great view of Mt. Rainer. There're plenty of Parks and Trails in the city.

    For some people, it's a perfect small town.
