Here are a couple of links.  I rode my brother's recumbent.  It was more like sitting in a lawn chair.  No pressure on the hands, shoulders, or in the crotch.  It felt a little strange for the first few feet, then it was find.  It was also easier and safer when I had to stop at a traffic light.  I just put my feet down when I stopped.  No tipping to the side.
