  1. I've been working at sonic for a few months and I actually enjoy it, I mean, as much as you can enjoy working at a fast food place. When I was hired, I spent my first few shifts working at switchboard, or taking people's orders. After that, they started letting me start making drinks (which isn't too hard once you learn how to make the specialty drinks and such). After about 2 weeks, they eventually let me start carhopping, which is really the best position to be working. The tips are a really nice bonus to the minimum wage (right now, I've been getting $50 dollars in tips during a 6-7 hour shift, although other people who arn't as cheerful and friendly get about $20-30) Yes, at times, especially happy hour, it can get hectic, but as long as you don't stop working and can finish all the orders, it eventually evens out. The most hectic times are the obvious breakfast, lunch and dinner rushes, happy hour and at about 9-10pm for ice cream.

At least at my sonic, you're either working middle (drinks/ice cream and taking orders) or carhopping (which you'll occasionally help out middle, but priority is taking out food). Once you get used to all of the beeps and learn what to shout out to the cooks and where all the buttons are on the menu board, it's a pretty good job. With tips, Sonic is probably one of the best paying jobs you can get as a teen. How enjoyable it is, with any job, will depend on your manager's rules and strictness.

  2. well every fast food place. is at a fast pace i work at subway and like all fast foods its fast. can get really stressful. i even cried the 2nd day i worked cuz i didnt understand it yet and it was just so fast.

  3. Well, I worked at a Sonic for three weeks. I quit. If you don't mind working under a LOT of fast-paced fairly stressful conditions then you'll be ok... I just don't do well under those situations. Don't get me wrong - I did have a blast working mornings (from 6 to 11), because you're not frantic busy, but once lunch hits... It's a hectic mess! I will say that it was fun, but I didn't like how hectic it was.

    Good luck finding a job!
