  1. My husband's currently in Iraq, and it's 120 degrees or more!  He's a comedian though, so he takes it all in good stride.  He says he's on the Iraq diet.  Seems to lose a lot of weight every time he goes over!  Good Luck and God Bless!

  2. Well, I'm not overseas, but I can tell you it can get intense out there. You need alot of commitment to yourself without going crazy. For example, for 1 year, I suffered knowing the fact that my ex cheated on me back home. It leaves a scar on your heart because you cannot do anything about it while deployed. What did I do? I kept to myself.

Okay besides my suffering, overseas is dangerous work if you are deployed to areas such as Afghanistan and Iraq. Any US enlistee can die, really whether you're in the Navy, Marines, Army, etc. The bright side, however, is going to places you never thought you'd go to before and meeting with a bunch of people.

  3. The ocean smells of salt and fish.

  4. Overseas where?

In the military, depending on your Duty Station, Job, and Chain of command, you can travel on your free time. I was stationed in Germany for the first three years. I got out of the barracks every chance I got...

Try to learn the language of where ever you go. Don't be affraid to talk with people, they will tell you the better places to visit...

I loved being in Germany, got to visit a few surrounding countries, etc...
